The PACU Nurse will be responsible for the daily care of patients that have just went through anesthesia during a medical procedure. Post Anesthetic Care Unit RNs take care of a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an crucial role in the recovery of the patient.
As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Registered nurse your responsibilities include:
Analyze the health of the patient and administer medications as needed.
Assisting patients with personal needs immediately after their procedure as they are helped back to consciousness.
Watch the vitals of the patient and make sure that no complications come up.
Care for the patients surgical wounds and change dressings when needed.
One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit RN within the past two years.
Active RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
