The primary focus for the Oncology RN is to care for patients who are diagnosed with different stages of cancer. Oncology Nurses also work with patients that have a increased risk of getting the disease, and supply their patients with preventative techniques.
As an Oncology Registered Nurse your duties consist of:
Providing encouragement to patients while teaching them on their condition.
Administering chemotherapy and other necessary medications to the patient.
Observing the patient’s physical and mental health and making notes of the patient's progress.
One year of experience as a Oncology Nurse within the past two years.
