The Post Anesthetic Care Unit RN is responsible for the care of patients that have just undergone anesthesia during a medical procedure. PACU Registered nurses care for a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an important role in the patient's recovery.
As a PACU RN your duties include:
Review the health of the patient and supply medications as necessary.
Helping patients with personal needs directly after their procedure as they are helped back to consciousness.
Monitor the patient's vitals and make sure that no complications come up.
Take care of the patients post-op wounds and replace dressings when necessary.
One year of experience as a PACU Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date BLS through American Heart Association.
