The formost focal point for the Oncology Nurse is to deliver care for patients who are diagnosed with various stages of cancer. Oncology Nurses also assist patients that have a increased risk of getting the disease, and present patients with preventative routines.
As an Oncology RN your responsibilities consist of:
Providing encouragement to patients while teaching them on their condition.
Administering chemotherapy and other needed medications to the patient.
Observing the patient’s physical and mental condition and logging their progress.
One year of experience as a Oncology Nurse within the past two years.
Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
