A Nursery RN typically works in hospital nurseries. Sometimes helping in private residences or outpatient care centers when home care is required for ill infants. Nursery Nurses usually provide non-medical care such as changing dirty diapers and soothing colicky babies. Additional jobs can vary based on the need.
Nursery RN duties consist of:
Working with the physician.
Instructing patients’ family of proper home care and follow-up procedures.
Administering prescribed medications, tests, treatments and procedures.
Developing and overseeing patient care plans.
Creating patient records.
One year of experience as a Nursery Registered Nurse within the past two years.
