The PACU Nurse is responsible for the daily care of patients that have just went through anesthesia during a medical procedure. PACU Registered nurses care for all types of patients, from children to adults and play an crucial role in the recovery of the patient.
As a PACU Nurse your duties consist of:
Assess the patient's health status and administer medications as needed.
Helping patients with personal needs directly after their medical procedure as they are brought back to consciousness.
Monitor the vitals of the patient and make sure that no complications arise.
Take care of the patients post operation wounds and replace bandages when necessary.
One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
Active RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
