The Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse is responsible for assessing, diagnosis, treating, and evaluation of patients who are suffering from serious medical diseases, illnesses, or organ failures. The MICU Registered nurse have to remain composed in all situations when dealing with patients in this unit, because they require a high level of care.
As a MICU Registered nurse your duties consist of:
Collaborating with other members of the medical staff to create a care plan for the patient.
Consistently monitor the patient's vitals and document any progress or changes.
Teaching the patient and their families on the current health condition of the patient and plan the patient's discharge plans, if need be.
One year of experience as a Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
