Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurses must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening injuries. ICU RNs must have the ability to make quick and spot on decisions while staying composed during unpredictable, traumatic events.
Intensive Care Unit Nurses responsibilities include:
Evaluating the patient's progress.
Taking needed steps if the patient's condition changes.
Helping medical staff with medical procedures.
Making sure all medical equipment is functioning properly while caring for the patient.
Giving needed medication in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.
One year of experience as an ICU RN within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
