The MICU RN is responsible for assessing, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of patients who are dealing with serious medical diseases, illnesses, or organ failures. The Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse must be able to remain composed in all situations when dealing with patients in this unit, because they must have a high level of care.
As a Medical Intensive Care Unit RN your duties consist of:
Collaborating with other members of the medical staff to write a care plan for the patient.
Regularly watch the vitals of the patient and log any changes ad progress.
Teaching the patient and their family members on the patient's current health condition and plan the patient's discharge plans, when needed.
One year of experience as a Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
