The Surgical ICU RN is in charge of the care of critically ill patients recovering from major operations. Surgical ICU Nurses are required to examine the patient, diagnose and organize treatment plans accordingly.
As a Surgical ICU Nurse your responsibilities consist of:
Educating patients and their families before, during and after operations.
Sterilizing medical equipment and the room.
Preparing the surgical room and ensure safety measures are upheld.
Working with the doctor in different procedures while monitoring the patient’s health.
One year of experience as a SICU Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Current Nursing License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
