The PACU RN will be responsible for the day to day care of patients that have just undergone anesthesia during a medical procedure. Post Anesthetic Care Unit RNs care for a wide variety of patients, from children to adults and play an crucial role in the patient's recovery.
As a Post Anesthetic Care Unit RN your responsibilities consist of:
Assess the patient's health status and supply medications as needed.
Assisting patients with personal needs right after their procedure as they are guided back to consciousness.
Monitor the vitals of the patient and make certain that no complications come up.
Care for the patients post operation wounds and change dressings as needed.
One year of experience as a Post Anesthetic Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
