Intensive Care Unit Nurses must provide top end care for patients with life-threatening trauma. ICU RNs must have the ability to make rapid and accurate decisions while staying composed during unforeseen, traumatic events.
ICU Nurses responsibilities consist of:
Evaluating the progress of the patient.
Following the correct process if the patient's condition changes.
Helping medical staff with medical procedures.
Making sure all equipment is functioning correctly while caring for the patient.
Administering necessary medication in a fast-paced, highly stressful environment.
Providing emotional support while updating family members of current health status of the patient.
One year of experience as an Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse within the past two years.
Active Nursing License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support from American Heart Association.
