The MICU RN is responsible for analyzing, diagnosis, treating, and evaluating patients who are suffering from serious medical diseases, illnesses, or organ troubles. The Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse must be able to remain composed in various situations when working with patients in this unit, because they need a high level of care.
As a Medical Intensive Care Unit RN your responsibilities consist of:
Collaborating with other members of the medical staff to write a care plan for the patient.
Consistently watch the patient's vitals and document any progress or changes.
Educating the patient and their families on the current health condition of the patient and plan the patient's discharge plans, if necessary.
One year of experience as a Medical Intensive Care Unit Nurse within the past two years.
Current RN License in good standing.
Up to date Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
