GI Lab Registered Nurses work directly with physicians and the anesthesia department. They handle the admission of patients who may have gastrointestinal disease and liver disease, and are responsible for well being of those patients while they are at the facility.
GI Lab Nurse duties include:
Assessing the patient for procedures.
Caring for the patients after they come out of anesthesia.
Instructing patients on all after procedure care.
Give any other help regarding the procedure.
Participate in ongoing education related to the field.
One year of experience as an Gastrointestinal Lab RN within the past two years.
Active RN License in good standing.
Current Basic Life Support through American Heart Association.
