Take some time to visit the western edge of Yellowstone National Park which runs along the eastern side of Idaho.  Yellowstone was the first National Park in the world and it's incredible collection of geysers, hot springs, wildlife (including wolves, buffalo and grizzly bears) is unmatched anywhere else in the world. 

If you’re looking to experience the fierce side of Mother Nature, spend an afternoon at Craters of the Moon National Monument and Preserve.  Dubbed the best preserved volcanic areas in the United States, it's a somewhat eerie place of stark lava beauty.  Hiking Craters of the Moon you will see volcanic cinder cones and great fields of love, lava tubes (caves) and tree molds that were formed where the lava met living forests.  Much like Yellowstone, it’s a site you don’t want to miss!

Combine your love for water and history with a visit to Hells Canyon.  Hells Canyon is North America's deepest river gorge and with Snake River still carving this magnificent canyon, it’s more than a mile below the western rim.  If you still want more, grab your best pals and try your hand at rafting the Snake River.  It’s an experience you won’t soon forget! If you’re feeling a little less adventurous seek out Idaho's scenery from the comfort of your automobile.  Ghost Towns, like Silver City, are scattered across this great state so hop in your 4WD and make a day of it!

In the summer, Idaho comes alive with wild flowers and roaring rivers, but in the winter people go to the ski areas with a need for speed.  Great ski areas are located all over Idaho including the famous and glamorous Sun Valley.  At Sun Valley you will share the slopes with people like Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Clint Eastwood and Tony Robbins.  Bald Mountain at Sun Valley is often referred to as the best single ski mountain in the world!
